Farmer's Wife Quilt Along Week 23
November 1, 2011
Yellow, Green & White
#46 - Hill & Valley
Does this block - of hills - remind anyone else of Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Lala & Po?
Someone, please say yes.
Are they even still on TV?
#22 - Corn & Beans
I've been avoiding this block for a while. I dunno ... I think it was the name. I just kept picturing some old guy wandering around with bits of corn stuck in his overgrown gray beard and farting into his dusty overalls.
Sorry if I ruined this block for you, but I just didn't think it was fair to keep that visual all to myself.
You're welcome for not adding the bit about how he's also a little itchy in certain places.
Oops.
:)

Yes! Absolutely the TeleTubbies! Hilarious!
And I love the corn and beans block. Thinking about making it a quilt for our barn! Corn and beans are our bread and butter here! And your description of an old farmer is great! That'll probably be my husband someday if I go first! LOL! I think its funny that you made it John Deere green and yellow! A happy co-ink-e-dink? I don't think so!!
Hmmm, I will NEVER look at that block the same after reading your post! :) It sure looks pretty, even tho it brings to mind corn bits in a beard and some smelly overalls.
OMG Teletubbies !!! I still have a Po pillow floating around my house !!! It is seriously worn and these days serves as a wresting opponent more often than is hugged and loved but Its still there. As for the farmer.... welll....uuuhhhh....... yeah........ita a pretty block though :) !!!
My daughter could not STAND Teletubies! I don't know if they are on, but I hope not, I don't want my granddaughter seeing them....sorry.
both are beautiful! i'm so glad that neither of my boys liked teletubbies...so bad.
lol, I love the blocks! ;0
I caught a glimpse of the Teletubbies as I was browsing through the channels for something to watch when I was in the studio this morning ....... and a glimpse was more than enough!
Very pretty blocks, despite the visuals :)
Love the blocks but I'm never looking at the corns and beans block in the same light now although for me he's more of an old man in a greasy vest ;o) Fortunately the blocks are pretty enough to overcome any hurdles!
I'm actually tramatized because you actually used green (beans) and yellow (corn) for the Corn and Beans block.... LOL!
I just haven't come to grips with those two colors together yet HAHA!
I love seeing you FW blocks, so pretty, thanks, kathy
Yeah you ruined that block for me!!!
Vivienne x
I remember the teletubbies! scary scary tv show lol.
cute blocks!!
And at the beginning of the post I was thinking, "Ooo, I really like the Corn and Beans block!" Maybe I'll just rename it? Beautiful, as always! :)
ROFLOL.... bahahahahahahahahaha man you make me laugh. Hard. xoxo Bari Jo
I'll probably be laughing the whole time I'm making the Corn & Beans block! Thanks for the visual, lol!
You make me laugh! The blocks are beautiful. From the comments, I guess I'm lucky that I've never seen the Teletubbies. As for the corn and beans, I'll probably always have that visual when I hear the name of that block!
What a beautiful color-combination! And that farmer image ... glad I'm a city girl;-)

Long live the Teletubbies LOL! However, if you applique little bunnies onto that block, I am seriously going to freak out. ;-p
No, I don't get reminded of teletubbies by the hills block. To me they look like a couple of hilly gents in bow ties.
Sooo happy Anne Sutton sent me to your site! I love it and all the great tips and Quilt Market pics. 'Rabbits Prefer Chocolate' is my ultimate favorite Bunny Hill pattern, made it, promoted it, taught it and then made 'Rabbits prefer Embroidery'. It must come with the DNA, on my parents honeymoon Peter Rabbit and mama bunny decided to have a baby and 9 months later, "Bonnie Bunny was born"(me). Ever since that day in 1950, it's been bunnies and pink for me!
I like your work #46 - Hill & Valley yellow, green and white.
