Farmer's Wife Quilt Along Week 25

Red, Pink, Green, Blue & White (again)

I loved last week's color theme so much I did it again.  Guess I'm really diggin' the crayon box look.

#39 - Friendship

Ok.  You know I have this thing about not letting the same print "touch" in a quilt, right?  Well, I decided to challenge myself and do the complete opposite here.  Yep.  FOUR, count 'em - 4 - of the same print, all cozy and nesting together.  Don't they look friendly? ;)

#27 - Darting Birds

All this rule breaking is kinda fun (just please don't tell my children, kay?)!

You know, when I first looked at this block it was just another design with more yucky triangles.  Me & triangles ... we ain't exactly the best of friends.

But when I read the name 'Darting Birds', and then actually SAW the birds - with their cute lil' heads and cute lil' wings - my attitude TOTALLY changed.  I think these little birdies are just so sweet.

And of course, pink is the leader. :)

I am new to your blog, I love it --especially that header picture!! Pardon my inquiries: I see your blocks are numbered are these referenced to a book? I am thinking they are the block design. I would love to see the instructions and try them are they from a book? Maybe I can just search the name of the block. I love your color scheme and 30's look. Really enjoying your blog. I added you to my blog roll and hope to check out some of the sites on your blogroll.
Thanks. Elaine

I kind of do the same with no touching, at least most of the time, and I really like these! I love the colors you're using!!!!

Love those darting birds! And I think that rules are made to be broken! The floral prints in different colors look just fine touching!

I misread it as DATING birds - I was picturing little birds cuddling up on a branch!! As ever I love your colours ....... when I have finished the fabrics that are leftovers from another quilt, I think I will have to make some more blocks in similar colours to yours!!

Beautiful! Look how those seams just line up perfectly! BTW, I like the name 'Dating Birds' better than 'Darting Birds'. Maybe you could write to someone...

You, my friend are a complete nutcase!! That must be why I love you so much....I am too! I have rules too...so glad you can break them!!
My best friend called in this week, shook her head in my general direction and declared "you really have a problem don't you?!".....doesn't everyone have a fully decorated (including lights!) Christmas tree in their bathroom?!
No? .....me neither...!!

Fabric selection always has me in a tizzy. Your Friendship block looks wonderful. Love the idea of using the same print in different colorways.

Oh so much eye candy! I can hardly contain myself, I want to start this quilt sooooo bad, but My hands don't work just right and it's really hard for me to work with templates. Not sure if I want to take the chance. In the meantime, I can feast my peepers on everyone else's lovely's. Hugs...

I know it's hard to break the rules, but your Friendship block might just be my favorite yet. It makes me think that an entire Pezzy quilt could be really stinkin' cute with that block.

Ok...I might have to copy the whole same print/different colour thing. It's very cute!

Just adore your blocks for farming - I also love "Flower Sugar"!!! Friendship block is so pretty with the different colorway used. Anyone know what the fabric is for that block? I would love to source some in the red. Thanks.

Hi

I absolutely love these blocks. They are just gorgeous. What fabric is the friendship block made out of it. It's gorgeous with it's colour on white.
