Felt Christmas Tree

There just aren't adequate words in the English language to describe exactly how I feel about crafting.  When I poured all these sparkly, colorful beads & sequins onto the saucer my heart skipped a beat.  Seriously.  I may have even squealed out loud a little.

It's all just so ... so PRETTY!!!

Making things - especially pretty things for people I love - makes me really happy.

Major bonus when whatever it is turns out even better than I'd hoped! :)

The idea for this little ad-libbed 2011 label just came to me at the last minute.   All it took was a piece of unbleached muslin, pinking shears and a fine-tipped marker.

My husband said it looks like a price tag ... I nearly clocked him one.  He's also the same guy who thought this was a placemat.  See what I have to live with?  ;)

But now I need your advice ... to bow or not to bow?  That is the question.

What do you think?  I'll go with marjority rules as of bedtime tonite.

Pattern available here.

I must admit, I squealed a little when I saw your tree too. It is soooo cute! I vote bow, I think it gives a neat finish to the top.

Little bows are just too cute! I vote for a bow (maybe in ivory to look like snow on a star). No matter what.. it's cute!

I vote for the bow! Love the sequins :)

December 15, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterZoe

Sorry...have to agree with the husband on the placemat...maybe it was the context in which he first saw it that threw him off!

Go for the bow...it's cute!

December 15, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSuzitee

Well, I guess it depends how cute you want it to look. Extra cute- use the bow. Cute -no bow. But really I think it should be how you like it best. Love those sequins- K-

I vote no bow! Simple understated elegence! Either is fine. I would have to admit,I did not see the inspiration when you began, but now..OMG! So classy! You never fail to just overwhelm us with your wondeerfulness! I also like the way you scattered the sequins and beads in just that way. I am so impressed,as usual!
Ihave my gifts all ready for the traveling family members, using your pattern witht he large initial, they are just going to love it!!! You have really influenced my Holiday!! Thanks Kristyne for all of your wonderful inspiration.

Your love of crafting sure shows! How utterly adorable! Your workmanship is meticulous. I could go either way, but will say no bow because it's practically perfect as it is. My husband doesn't get it either. ;-)

I love it either way - I'd leave the bow off for this year and add it next year if it looked like it needed something when you see it again. But you can't lose...it's adorable!
Just so you know...I ordered the PDF today for this ornament set. I'm loving that darling deer so much. Thanks for the information!

Hi,

I just came upon your blog, through pinterest, and I recognized this tree. I followed the link and I noticed you did not credit the original author of this pattern. Please credit her with her pattern and design. It is beautiful! I love the ribbon you've added to the top and the year tag, they are great additions.

I think it looks better without the bow - but it's very pretty either way! And I so understand why you wanted to clock your husband as I've felt the same with mine when he comments on what I'm making.
