Project Simplify - Day 22

Whoever invented these bent basting pins should be awarded the Nobel Prize for Quilting.

Seriously.

I held out for a loooong time thinking my regular safety pins still worked so why should I buy new ones?  Yeah, smack me upside the head!  Best $5 I ever spent.

Forget the safety pins.....look at the pretty quilt they are attached to!! Seriously, the bent safety pins are awesome and I do have about a 50/50 mix in the tin that I keep them in for basting. I cannot wait to see the full photo of this quilt.....you are just zooming along!

I have to stop by my fav quilt store today and will pick some up. I have wondered if they worked any better than the normal safety pin, which I dispise using. :)

Have you ever spray basted a quilt? I have been toying with the idea.

Dara, yes I have. But it's kinda expensive to spray larger quilts. I tend to use spray for little quilts where accuracy can be compromised by the pins. Plus I'm not a big fan of spraying the chemical indoors so I have to take my quilt outside. And then there's the backing - you either have to spray that too or pin anyways. Those are my two cents worth!

Haha -- I love missymote's comment. Are you really a goof? Can't wait to see that pretty quilt finished!

If you really want to treat yourself, I highly recommend the Kwik Klip to close all those pins. I l-o-v-e mine! I really enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for all of the great inspiration.
