Project Simplify - Day 52

Has this ever happened to you where you lay out all the blocks for the quilt, think you're done and then find a few more blocks that you accidentally laid down nearby - and promptly forgot about - and then you have spend like another 20 minutes re-jigging your layout?  You know, because you have all these weird rules about the same color and the same print not being allowed to touch each other?

No?  That doesn't happen to you?

Yeah, me either ... I was just wondering ... ;)

About the time I get my gazillion tiny pieces laid out just so, my dog Ozzie capers in and blows them all over the room!

I have the same pet problem, except it is my cats wanting to take a nap in the middle. By the time you get them out or they leave because they get bored the pieces are mixed up or I forgot what pieces were under them and mess the pattern up on my own!

OF COURSE the same print/color can't touch! Doesn't everyone have that rule?

I can relate to this. I worked forever on a block where you stacked all the fabrics together, cut, paperpieced. I got them all done, then realized I had four more fabrics I could have used!

Hi friend...been WI for two weeks..'without internet' but have enjoyed your emails..especially the tooth fairy mystery...your daughter is a modern day Nacy Drew! Do I spy Buttercup fabric? If so....I seem to remember a certain someone that was not supposed to buy new fabric for this endeavor?? :)
I could use some pointers on this pattern piecing...reading the directions I get so confused how all the pieces fit together..I know, I am slow, but whatever! Beautiful so far, I love Fig Tree lines, so peaceful! Lisa in Texas

Goodness Kristyne, what a lot of work in that quilt, good job you're not the sort of person that mislays blocks. ;)
It is going to be beautiful!

Yes, that is a rule I try very, very hard to follow. And when I swear my quilt is laid out just perfectly, after it's sewn together, I have a the same color/same print touching somewhere. Happens every time!
