"Your Honour, I Plead Temporary Insanity."
Ok. I swear I do NOT know how this happened.
Last week I went to Ikea for a few storage boxes,
but then totally by accident also walked out with a pink kitchen.
It was not premeditated.
But I mean come ON! How in the world is someone like me supposed to resist all this stuff?!
Tea towels with cross stitch & ribbon embellishments ...
And this pretty napkin holder with pink & rose napkins to go with ...
And this adorable pink gingham/rose tray ... a totally practical and "every day use" sort of thing ... (not).
And even a few (four is considered "a few", isn't it?) lovely little plant pots ...
WITH plants! Faux, of course - 'cause I shouldn't be allowed to own real ones.
Lucky for me horticulture isn't a prerequisite for parenthood. If it was I'd be on the "dangerous offender" list ... with a tracking device strapped to my ankle ... and "must not come within 50 feet" on my list of probation conditions.
Sorry. I digress. My plant-neglecting ways are totally off topic.
Anyhow. It was all just so ... irresistable. I couldn't help myself. You can't possibly blame me, can you? In my defense, there were even more items from this collection I didn't bring home ... like aprons, tins, pot holders, larger planters.
Come to think of it, I believe I showed remarkable restraint ... which kinda destroys my temporary insanity plea. ;)

Well, all that pink-ness is the prettiest thing I've ever seen at IKEA! Of course you couldn't resist it!!! If my Emma sees all that loveliness, she will insist on a trip to our IKEA to stock up on necessities for her pink play kitchen. Hmmm. Maybe I should do some early Christmas shopping?! :)
I grew up with a pink kitchen....and I dont just mean accessories...we had PINK APPLIANCES. This was in the 60's when we moved from New York to Hollywood, Florida. Every house in the brand spankin' new neighborhood had different color appliances. We had a pink electric push button cook-top, wall oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. Our neighbors had turquoise, yellow, and even purple! They were all GE. Fun times!
Yes, resisting all that was totally outside the realm of possibility.
You got all that at IKEA???? I need to revisit that place!
Crazy! I was at Ikea on Saturday and saw these items and thought of you! How weird is that?
You mean you left some pink stuff behind, Ikea actually have some pink stuff left!!!
Wow I am impressed with your retraint. ;)

gorgeous loot! It all looks so very beautiful and irresistible, now I really want to go to IKEA!!!
Don't feel bad. I've been known to kill silk plants, not to mention philodendrons that require very little watering. (Lovely pink loveliness!!)
You thought you can go to IKEA and just went out with what is on your list!?! Believe me nobody can do this! And I have the very same plant pots ... with a Tilda rabbit in it;-) Hildy
Love the pink stuff!!! So excited for our Ikea to open!
I DO understand. I just finished painting a spare room pink. That tray would fit in perfectly, and I think I could turn those towels into a window treatment. It's a good thing for my bank account that the nearest Ikea is in the next state!
It all looks absolutely cute!
Looks like a trip to IKEA is on the menu for this weekend! Love the plants - my favorite kind. My best friend told me once that they looked more realistic when I let them get dusty - but I couldn't kill them and didn't have to worry about the cats eating something poisonous to them.
I keep hearing about IKEA and I've never been to one... I would love to go - that TOTALLY looks like you - and yes, I think you exercised amazing restraint! :O) Wow! Love the fun things you found... if I didn't live in a house full of guys, I'd want a pink kitchen, too!
Restraint?? Bummer, sounds like you need to go back to IKEA and rescue those missing items that didn't make it home with you......just saying!
This is exactly why I am glad I don't live super close to an Ikea. I could never resist all that pink eye candy :) debbie
I'm off to IKEA!
OMG! I totally would have had that same insanity! I guess its a good thing I'm no where near an IKEA store or I'd be on my way there NOW! My favorite color! I'm redoing my sewing room in pinks right now and some of these things would be too cute there as well.
Considering you showed restraint, I'll let you off on a good behaviour bond!
I don't think anyone can go to IKEA and only buy what's on their list - there are always too many goodies! You did well!
Oh how lovely! You showed remarkable restraint, why not go back for what you left behind? It just has to be wonderful!!! We have an IKEA 45 min from here, it is a dangerous place to go! I ha ve some Laura Ashley dishes that would sure look nice with all of your new things. I just love everything! And I loved the idea of curtains from those tea towels!!! You have a blessed life. I got a new iron and thought I was over the moon! Don't know if I could handle a whole new kitchen!! So lovely!
Love everything you bought and am prepared to stand up in your defence!! Out the door now for a quick trip to IKEA. Oops, did I say that out loud?!
I bought those exact pots (the lacy ones and the rose pot) a few weeks ago at our Ikea. I also bought the lacy hanging pot - it's gorgeous. I didn't see all the pretty pink tea towels etc. Might have to go back to Ikea.
I agree. How could you resist, Every bit of that pinkness is wonderful!
How gorgeous, no wonder you were tempted! That pink ginham tray - I want!!!!
S x
I confess, I am unclear on the nature of the "crime" here? Looks like justifiable retailicide to me.
I think you need more storage boxes (second trip to purchase what you didn't get the first time)!
i totally have 3 of those pretty lacey looking plant holders with the faux plants!!! i love them!
