wallflowers

Ok. No, this isn't wallpaper in my house. I wish it was. Isn't it just so pretty? It is actually the back side of my Farmer's Wife quilt ... I thought I would tease you a little bit today before I show you the rest of the quilt later this week.

Besides, these flowers deserve a post all to themselves, don't you think?

Love this backing to your Farmer's Wife Quilt. I've just recently come across your Blog with all the beautiful Blocks. You've made them so bright and beautiful.
I was thinking that maybe starting next June (2014), I will pretend it is June 2011 (the start of your weekly FWQAL) and sew 'along' on your archived Blocks.

It's so very lovely! Your quilts are inspiring me to get back to my roots, so to speak, in all things feminine, pretty and old fashioned.

The fabric reminds me a little of my grade 9 grad dress which my aunt made for me. I picked the biggest cabbage rose, hyacinth and lilac print I could find from Ant Hill fabrics (is that still there in Kensington?). It had puffed mutton leg sleeves, a huge gathered skirt, bows and pearl buttons down the back. I'll probably never dress like that again, but I might make a quilt with that fabric as backing ;)

This is one of my all time favorite fabrics... I used it for the back of my Victory Garden and almost loved it more than the front;-) Can't wait to see your finished Farmer's Wife!!!

Beautiful! You are so right; often the back of our quilts get no glory when they are just as pretty. Waiting not so patiently for pictures of the front! ~ Shari

Some fabrics deserve to be framed as a pic and this is one of them. I also notice the quilting and oh, my word! but this is already a stunner and I haven't even seen the front.
I'm sitting on my hands in anticipation :)
