demilune

So.  Did you guess right?  To be honest, even I didn't know this was going to happen when I wrote that last post.  I was preparing to make my usual round pencil case.  But then all of a sudden and out of the blue I was inspired to make this instead (no pattern ... just made it up as I went along).  I love how this little zippered demilune case turned out.  Pretty, practical and perfect ... if I may say so. ;)

Now it's in the mail being delivered to someone special.  Somehow I never manage to make something like this and actually keep it for myself.  But I've said this before and I'll say it again - it's the making, not the having, I enjoy most about doing what I do. :)

Happy weekend!

This is WAY better than a placemat! Haha! And if you want to you could, ya know, write up a pattern, or something. Looks like it could be a really sweet makeup bag for me. Just sayin'. ;)

Ahhhhh, sweet inspiration for my soul! I've been completely swallowed up by a 2nd grade classroom since I accepted a teaching position in mid-September. I've almost been afraid to open your blog updates as I've so missed quilting and "petting" fabric. But alas, here you are and I had the courage to open the door and what a lovely breath of inspiration! Thank you so much for your sweet, beautiful ideas an inspiration!

The patchwork and the shape are so beautiful! You are so talented to be able to make this with no pattern. Love it!
I share your sentiments in enjoying making and giving. I just sent my sister a box of handmade goodies I sewed for her birthday and felt such joy when she said she loved them.
Sewing makes me happy. :)

Love that case. You are so creative. Are you going to publish that pattern, because I would love to make it and use it to replace my old beat-up make case? Have a great weekend.

Love your block! I myself am an old fuddy-duddy and like just plain vanilla, but you can put SO many toppings with it! Hot fudge! Caramel! Nuts! Root Beer!! or Coke for a float. Yummy!! It makes me hungry for ice cream right now!!

Love this little bag - especially the fabby you used along side the zipper area which makes it look like trim. You must have quite the stash! Would love to see this pattern made with your new collection from Fat Quarter Shop - hint, hint. Would be a great marketing strategy!
