"pretty pairings II" ~ a fq bundle giveaway

This just never gets old ... being asked to put together a Blogger's Bundle of my favourite fat quarters.  This is the third time Pink Castle Fabrics has asked me to make one and it's definitely my best yet.  (Says me.)

Because I enjoy making small, quick projects with just 2 fabrics, I decided to choose another eight pairs if coordinating prints.  They are almost all designed by my beloved Japanese fabric companies - Lecien, Yuma, Kokka, etc.  They're fun, whimical, pretty, the scale is small ... makes my heart fabric-loving heart go pitter-patter.

My approach was to pick a whimsical print with a smaller coordinate.  I was particularly drawn to the Liberty-esque florals that I love so much.

This pair - of Lecien's Flower Sugar reinvented as a tea party and a newspaper print - makes me giggle a bit.  I was thinking it'd be fun to read the morning paper (or iPad/blogs) while enjoying a cup of tea.  When my daughter saw the tea party fabric, she begged me to please make her an apron out of it.  Excellent - one Christmas gift idea solved. :)

Cute little kawaii red riding hood kittens!!!

This faux patchwork is perfect for pencil cases and such, but I also thought the squares would be fun to fussy-cut and made into labels for larger projects.

Don't you just love charming translations from Japanese to English?  The above fabric reads, "I love the sweet cake and donut."  And below, "It is loved by everyone beyond the time."

Cute, cute, cute.

This bundle is available for purchase here.  FYI, stock is limited and the last few bundles I made for Pink Castle Fabrics sold out in about a week so if you don't want to be disappointed ...

But if you'd also like a chance to win it, please leave me a comment telling me if you've started on your Christmas sewing and if so, what you are making.  This giveaway closes Sunday, November 9th and is open to all!

PS:  If you're not doing any sewing for Christmas, that's ok.  You can still enter. :)

Right now I am making flannel dog blankets, to keep the dogs in our extended family warm and cozy during winter. A fun project because the dogs are not critical at all. :)

Such charming pairings. You do have an eye for finding the sweetest fabrics to make the prettiest bundles.

I'm working on some gifts and planning others. At this stage I have a shaving kit bag cut out for one of my sons it's all ready to sew. I love handmade gifts!

What a cute bunch of fabrics. I've just finished sewing for some November birthdays (two quilted pillows for DIL and a soft bitty floral shirt for DD) and now I plan on starting the Christmas sewing. Some dressup clothes for the little granddaughters and a quiet book for the 9 month old.

What a lovely bundle and yes, I think it's your best so far, too! I know I should start with my xmas sewing but honestly there's still time yet and today we'll have 18°C not really xmas weather, right?

I have just finished a Christmas tree wall-hanging for one of my daughters, which will go in the post today. I then have to start on another one for my other daughter. They both requested one after seeing the one I made for myself last Christmas.
Thanks for the chance.

Beuatiful fabrics. Would love to add them to my stash. Christmas sewing - making a couple of soft toys for the first grandschild who will arrive in early 2015. But most of my sewing right now is in the quilting area - 4 baby quilts for various people. Sadly my sewing machine is in the shop awaiting a part. :-( Bobbin doesn't wind. So instead of sewing right now I am knitting. Plenty to do!

You chose a beautiful set of fabrics. I have started my Christmas sewing. I am making 2 flannel rag quilts to give as gifts this year. Thanks!
November 3, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterDelaine
No, I have not started any Christmas sewing! I am working to catch up on a round robin I am participating in as well as a couple of other projects that are lagging behind.

Hi there, love your blog!! For Christmas I'm sewing sweaters for my two nephews (2 and 4 years old) and made a crocheted elephant for my littlest nephew. And my sister in law is going to get a (hand)woven shawl, which i will start in the next few weeks. So yes, lots of Christmas gifts being made around here. Also love your new bundle!! Thanks for the give away. Greetings from Amsterdam, Bettina

Such pretty fabric. I have made my friends a Christmas table runner and a cross stitch tree decoration each and I am thinking about making them a mug rug to go under the mug that I have also bought them. I have knitted my Dad a pair of gloves and now I just have to decide what I am going to make for my Mum. Thank you for the chance at these fabrics xx
November 3, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterWendy W.
What a beautiful set of fabrics! I have started on a nice table runner for my mom's Christmas present!
November 3, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterPatty Radish
Oh I just love those fabrics! Especially the newsprint. I am into the vintage 30's fabrics right now and these remind me of them. I have to make a new tree skirt for my main tree and am still deciding on a pattern and am finishing up a postage stamp quilt for a guest room we just redid in vintage style. Made a quilt for a friend who lost her mom and have to MQ that still. Too many projects and not enough time right?!
