whoever said "it's the little things in life" could not have been more right, even though this is probably not what they meant

What would you do if a very dear friend sent you a key chain (or scissor fob, as I've turned it into) that has a wee little skein of pink COSMO embroidery floss and a wee little embroidery hoop?
Would you squeal like a teenage girl at a Justin Beiber concert?
Well apparently I would.
And did.
Thank you N!!! xxx

I am late in reading the blog and missed all of the Martha talk, I loved her also! I made many projects and bought every magazine book. I met her in person at a book signing. Oh, she is beautiful in person, inside and out. Her skin was translucent, she radiated with little or no make up. She looks like a baby just out of a bath, that natural glow. She was gracious, took time to answer every single question in full, especially gardening. It was a thrill to meet her, she talked freely about seeing her friend Barbara Streisand give a concert the evening before, she went to bed at 4 AM, here she was in Detroit area at 9 AM! Bright eyed as could be and very interesting. Her manicure was short nails, clear polish, lovely. Down to earth and utterly charming. I will never forget it.
Lucky you to have a sweet friend that knows you deserve it
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

I love reading your blog posts! Where else could I read Bonnie's story about meeting 'La Martha' ?! Oh, my!
Thanks for the delightful details, Bonnie!
See, these little treasures (miniature lovelies, your gorgeous stockings, your divine 'I want it now!' pencil case and your beautiful table runner) are why I love to visit with you. Thanks for sharing!
Speaking of miniatures, I am soo enamored by them, that my little (ok, he's 6'5") nephew remembers such things from when he was, you know, a miniature himself. Fun story: He would immediately start bawling if anyone merely suggested giving him his first haircut. Seriously, like a comedy routine, he'd cry at the word 'haircut'. So, I made a batch of my brownies, sat a plateful in front of him where he took a brownie in each small fist and stuffed them in his mouth, whereby I was able to cut his too long blond curls. Life has its cycles as he still asks for my brownies, his hair is less blond/curly and now prefers a buzz cut. Ha!
I'm dying to start on a red and cream quilt. I'm thinking stars.... any ideas?
Have a safe and Happy New Year!
