Project Simplify - Giveaway

Look what accidentally happened to the leftovers!

How about a giveaway to celebrate a successful first Chapter? My helper & I would love to find a good home for this little package.  Just leave me a comment saying ... well ... anything nice, and you'll be entered to win.

This giveaway includes:

  • fabric requirements - precut by yours truly - to make the same quilt top I made with one little change:  the background fabric is red paint spatters instead of the multi-colored flowers (but still from the same fabric collection)
  • extra yardage (red checkers) in case you'd prefer to make regular binding instead of the raw-edge
  • a little label - also from the same collection - that says "Memories are made of this"

It does NOT include:

(My home is smoke/pet free ... unless you consider dust bunnies pets ... then I have a few.)

Comments will close 9:00 pm EST (North America) on Sunday, April 10th and I'll announce the winner Monday morning on the 11th.

(I'm very excited about this - my first giveaway.  But also kinda nervous.  If no one enters, I'll give the prize to a local guild so they can make up the quilt and donate it to a charity of their choice.)

I adore this book and you have inspired me to work my way through as well! I'm trying to use my stash (which is alot like yours by the way) but I don't think winning would violate the rules! Thanks!!

I have this book and love it. I just finished one of the quilt tops and bought fabric for another one. What a talented women Camille's is. Thanks for sharing your quilt. It is also beautiful.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered Commentercandy

Congratulations on finishing the first project and what a fabulous giveaway. I have the book so would definitely make the project and you've inspired me to destash by making all the quilts too. First I have a few UFOs to complete and one will be going to a longarm quilter this weekend. Another king size quilt is being quilted today by me. Slow job.

oooh! love those paint splatters, and that quilt you made was just beautiful! I would love the excuse to pick up that book too :)

I found you through Camille's blog and am excited to follow your journey.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAlicia

Ok, Kristyne, this is your first giveaway and this is my first giveaway entry EVER! =0) I adore reading about your quilting adventures and can't wait to see your next project.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJennie

Hooray for you finishing the first quilt in the book!! Have you decided which one you'll work on next?

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMegan

Like you I love Camille's book. I got it for a Christmas present and have thumbed through it LOTS. I also just watched Julie and Julia for the first time. I think your idea to make every project in it while using your stash is awesome. Your fabric stash is to die for. I look forward to seeing your future projects. What great inspiration!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSewStormy

I'm thinking I need to check this book out, I could definitely use some help with organization in my home and life.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAnita

If nobody enters...you've got 9 already! :) The fabric is super cute and I already have the book and have made the same quilt - love it too!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSusan

I just ordered the book last night. This would be a perfect first project :)

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMelissa

I have to order another book as I gave my first to a 12 year old neighbor who got her first sewing machine for Christmas... Since I have an "more than ample" stash already, I would pass your gift along to her. Your project is inspiring and I find myself delightfully anticipating your next Simplify project...

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterChristine

I am going to my first quilt workshop and cannot wait. Got the book, love it,
love to try something from it. Great giveaway fingers and toes crossed. x

A giveaway? How much better can this blog get? I love the collection you have put together for this fun event, and I would love to win it! I have to tell you a secret....I read your blog while I am at work and it is quickly becoming my guilty pleasure. I took a very quick peek at the page about you and my favorite color is pink also. I also have two daughters!
Well, I have to get to a conference call, I cannot wait to see the next project!

Your quilt was beautiful! I would love to make one just like it.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSally

I LOVE Camille's book, and I think it's soooo cool that you're going to tackle the whole thing!! Way to go! Can't wait to see your interpretations along the way!!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJackie

If no one enters ... Hahaha. What a pretty and NICE giveaway! I don't need any more fabric (plus, I already have many of those prints) so you don't need to enter me for the giveaway -- just wanted to say hi and happy first giveaway!!!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterThimbleanna

Oh please, like there's no-one out here in cyberspace who doesn't fancy a giveaway! I'd love to win the leftovers so here it goes: You are so clever and I compliment you on your first project! Very well done, I am so proud of you. And by the way: I really love the cute ribbon around that roll of fabric! (And I mean every word of it.) I'm looking forward to your next project...

I've enjoyed watching your progress since I already own the book. I can't wait to see all of them finished. I am currently working on the Coming Home quilt. The video tutorial on free motion quilting helped a lot.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJennifer W

That is so generous of you! I would love to enter, that's if you're shipping overseas that is!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered Commentergreenrabbitdesigns

Would you ship it to Ireland? I have the book and have made 2 quilts out of it so far. I like your blog, the header is beautiful.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDenise

I have such a backlog of projects I know it is probably not wise to try to win your giveaway. However, I have a weakness for fabric. Oh, and I really love those Susan Branch fabrics. I found some of them in the clearance section of my LQS and was really tempted to see if they would give me a further discount if I bought the whole bolt. Then the sane part of me realized even at a discount I didn't quite have the room in my budget right now. So I only bought a couple of yards. =) BTW, I have yet to try the free motion quilting even though I've wanted to for over a year. Maybe this summer when my mom is here to help with my four darlings...

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterRebecca S.

I have been wanting this book...this would be a good reason to order it! I am fairly new to quilting (only made 2 1/2 so far) scared to death of free motion quilting too. You did such a great job with yours...maybe I will have to give it a try!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterColette

First of all, congratulations on conquering free-motion quilting! Your quilt looks fantastic!!! I've only done a few tablerunners and baby quilts, but it gets much easier with practice. I've always been a perfectionist, so it was hard for me to not be able to do it perfectly the first time, but I'm slowly learning to step back and look at the whole quilt instead of looking at the wonky stitches.

I love this book, it's sitting on my coffee table to be perused every evening...I'm excited to follow your journey through it and see your finished quilts!! :)

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDawn

L.O.V.E. this book!!! Your quilt turned out beautiful! And major kudos to you for taming the free-motion quilting beast! I have yet to try. You have inspired me to give it a shot!!! :)

Oh, that is such a pretty collection of things that I would love to win! I've started on a new sewing journey & would love to use those fabrics as my newest project! So lovely, thanks for the opportunity! :)

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterHeather Lynne

It must be very satisfying to have finished your first quilt from the book - I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterfrayedattheedge

Beautiful job on your first of the Simplify quilts! I just bought the book a few weeks ago and have been eyeing my stash to figure out what I can make out of my (mostly reproduction) odds & ends. I love how yours turned out! Thanks for the inspiration!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterKarli

What a fab giveaway. I LOVE your blog. Funnily enough I just bought the book and am halfway through one quilt when i saw your blog. You have inspired me to have a go at freemotiom embroidery too. My daughter will have having a go at a quilt from the book too as she has her own sewing machine, but she tells me she will have to quilt it on my machine!!! I love sharing crafts with my children! I cannot wait to see your next project.

Such a wonderful idea!! See? You got loads of comments, there is nothing like a giveaway to motivate the readers... hahaha...

What you are doing is really inspiring, I hope to learn machine quilting one day... I need a little push I guess and after seeing what you did I now want to try! I ordered the book because I now want to follow your steps a bit better and I was going to buy it sooner or later. I can't wait to receive it...

PS: thanks for your nice comment in my blog. I was lazy and the last 3 posts I copied from my Spanish blog instead of translating them into English, but the rest of it was only in English... anyway, I want to change it all at some point and start another one from scratch... but I need time.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSylvia

I wish no one entered... then I could win!!! :) My stash is quickly growing... and I'm not letting myself buy more. But winning isn't in the rules anywhere! I could win some. :)

Not to mention I don't usually get to buy such cute fabric! :)

Thanks! You're a doll!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBabychaser

You have totally inspired me to give away some of my quilts to charity. My mom has always taught me, "It is OK to give nice things to the DI" (our local thrift store). Anyway, thanks so much for the giveaway if I am the winner I would make the quilt and donate it to Primary Children's Hospital here in Utah where my 2 1/2 year old had his cleft lip repaired a couple years ago. Love to read about the projects you are creating with your stash and Camille's book! Keep up the great work!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJulianne

What a fun giveaway! I really needed an excuse to buy another book!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterShannon

I enjoy reading your blog. The quilt is really cute. I've wanted to learn to free motion quilt also, but every time I try it looks pretty bad. So your blog was encouraging. I also have Camille's book and want to make this quilt.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTamara

oh you are so beautiful and generous. Who doesn't love a giveaway. I never win but you have to be in it to win it they say.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJazz

I have loved your quilting adventure thus far and would LOVE to win this bundle. I think a super sweet idea would to have a quilt-along for one of the quilts of the book (hint hint ;) ). Until then, I am hoping I can win this bundle to make my own sweet Camille quilt and free motion my first quilt knowing that its okay to make mistakes. Thank so much for the give-way.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterShanon F

I am a beginner and bought this book. I love that you are taking on this challenge and love love love the fabric. Pick me :)

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMichaela

I do not think you have to worry about anyone posting! Love that fabric! You are awesome to have a give-away!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLaura Adams

I love Camille's book too. I just found out about your blog from Camille's blog and I really love what you both do.! Good info and tips and the quilts are so pretty. I'd love to win your first give away! Keep up the great work!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered Commenternikki joy

I already have Camille's book and love the pretty fabric you are giving away. Your quilt turned out so well. I am so thankful I found your blog because I love your color choices.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNancy M.

No one enter ... You are just too silly!! What beautiful fabric and project possibilities! Thank you for the chance :) I may be new to your blog, but it is certainly worthy of many, many visits now and in the future. Thank you so much for sharing!!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterWendyMT

Yay! Congrats on your first giveaway! I've yet to do one, so let me know how this one goes! Your quilt is beautiful and that fabric looks so so pretty! thanks for the inspiration fellow BYWer!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterHeather

I have been having a great time following you on your new journey through Camille's book, that just happens to be high on my Amazon shopping cart list. I've really been wanting to make some more "modern quilts" than the traditional ones i've made. The modern quilts are just so appealing to me, just as two-color traditional quilts have always been to me. Well, enough blathering on. Love your blog. Keep up the great job! I'd love t win the fabric.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBetsy Pratt

I have this super awesome book!! I love it! And I've been slowly compiling the fabrics to make many of the gorgeous projects inside. This would be such a treat to win! Thank you for the opportunity to win such a lovely prize.

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterslfranks4

I ordered this book a month ago and anxiously awaited it's arrival- now I have an excuse to "get 'er done" . I also recently purchased some of Camile "Bliss", so now that it's in my stash, I HAVE to use it up, right? I also have struggled with free motion quilting on MY Pfaff- not the machine's problem- mine, I'm sure. I feel you pain. but it does get easier with practice, doesn't it? Keep at it!

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkerri m

What a very generous giveaway my friend! I was surprised you thought no one would comment - silly rabbit or should I say dust bunny? LOL : ) I still need the book and for that matter a new sewing machine : ( Bessie went to heaven or about to go.....: (

April 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterGigi MInor

Oooh...pick me pick me! I love the fabrics and the inspiration to make such a pretty quilt. I promise the fabric would find a happy home with me! :-)
