Project Simplify - Day 47

Have you ever left a quilt taped & layered in the middle of the dining room floor - waiting to be pinned - for so long that your family (and by "family", I mean "husband") starts referring to it as "the carpet you're not allowed to walk on"?

No?  That doesn't happen to you?

Yeah, me either ... I was just wondering ...;)

Can't wait to see the quilt when it is all done! How do you pin this without scratching the wood floor??

Not the floor in my house......the kitchen table! Husband then complains about 2 things: 1) not enough room at the end of the table to eat AND 2) he's afraid to eat for fear he might splash something on the quilt. ;0

Poor guy. i've take over the house with quilting stuff....

Another good laugh...it is funny how each of us in all different places on this earth totally get the humor...we have all been there...nice to confirm we are all a little cuckoo..but have so much fun! Lisa in Texas

Well, I get other 'complaints'... hahaha! Anyway, Lisa is so right about us all getting the humor even though we are all on different part of this lovely, yet brutal, planet of ours... (still shaken up about Norway and the commotion it stirs here in the Netherlands). Anyway, on a lighter and more fun note: that quilt top looks lovely. Can't wait to see the final result either! I think this is my favorite so far. It is so old-fashioned looking. Just ask my children, that is a high compliment.

Who would do a thing like that?? ;)

I can truthfully say I haven't done that ....... but only because the dining table is too heavy to move!!

Lol. I cudnt leave a quilt anywhere for too long or the cat would claim it like she did with my first patchwork blanket. It's her bed now that she's slept on every night for over a year!

Our home is full of carpet except the tileing the kitchen. It wouldn't work for me. I'm too messy of a cook. I taped my latest quilt on the carpet and the backing didn't stick even with duck tape!

My husband is just amazed when he can see the top of the dining room table!

Once the cat and dog hair started needing to be cleaned off with the 3M sticky roller, I forced myself to get the quilt pinned, and once it was pinned, i may as well have quilted the darn thing. 8+|

Honestly I don't have so much spare room so whenever I'm leaving something laying around I have to tidy up everthing at the evening! But perhaps that's a good thing;-)

I just stumbled on your blog a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE your sense of humor, your perfect piecing and just how down to earth you are. If I didn't have so many pets, that's exactly what would happen to my quilts. Once I get the backing down and the batting in place, I'm worn slap out and have no desire to sit there for another hour sticking pins in everywhere.

Well, since my youngest son (14) calls them "rugs" I just finished the raggedy ann best friend quilt my son told me: "that's the best "rug" you had made so far" so; Am I supposed to take it as a compliment? you bet, so if he calls them "rugs" I'm very sure he would love to walk on them. lol. I love everything that you have done so far.And well we all have our quirks so if that " hole on the basket" bothers you, well you have to change it.
