How to FMQ Flowers

Want to know how to do this to your quilts?

I used a pencil on paper because it's easier to photograph.  But the motion is the same with a sewing machine.

and so on, and so on, and so on.

Hope this helps!

Bet you had no idea that your project would involve so much 'extra' work...but we all really appreciate it...you made it look so easy...practice, practice is what it wil take. I am eagerly awaiting your next project :)

Thank you so very much for posting how you did this!! I couldn't get my comment to work yesterday that requested this and I got up this morning and VIOLA! you posted the detail! I've got four quilt tops that need to be quilted and I really want to do the FMQ myself but have no idea how and there aren't any classes in my area, so this is wonderful information! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Dang, Miss K! I can't even draw my flowers as smoothly as you. Guess that means I'm sending my quilts to you! THe quilt is in the mail..... ;0

I don't even think I could draw them as pretty as you did let alone free motion quilt them. Off to practice I go. Thanks for the lesson!

Just catching up on your last few posts (sorry, I've been busy and neglecting my blog reading!) Lovely clear photo instruction for doing flowers! I use a lot of leaves for FMQ - done much the same way.

Ok, so, did you know if you scroll down quickly through your post those flowers are like a stop motion animation? Try it -- it's really cool. It's like they're quilting themselves LOL!!!

Miss Thimble Anna...you're so funny! It DOES look like a little anime flower drawing itself! ;0
