Felt Christmas Cottage II

Farmer's Wife blocks will be on Friday this week because ... well ... you'll see. ;)

But I CAN show you the finished cottage.  Yay!

Here's how it turned out.

The mistletoe under the eaves is such a simple detail but it adds SO MUCH to the design.  I was going to stitch it in the green that matches the shrubbery (tee hee), but the pattern says to combine the other 2 greens and I gotta tell ya, very nice touch.

I'm so annoyed with myself for forgetting to do the blanket stitch along the bottom edge of the roof here.  I know, not a big deal ... but still ...

And I added a gold bead as a brass doorknob.

I think I overstuffed it just a little bit.  But I love how all 3 ornaments turned out.

Dude, you really should give these a try. ;)

Really Super CUTE! Nice job! I am hoping she will kit these again next year and I can snag one and do them!
I got the Farmers Wife book for Christmas! YEAH! I need to finish a couple things up and then I will get started on mine!

Happy New Year!

SO cute!!! It's so cute that I wish I could move in! After lots of thought, (considering that I'd NEVER done any embroidery) I decided to make the Hot Cocoa Cup instead of this little Christmas cottage. I gifted 2 Cup ornaments and kept one for myself this Christmas. I'm going to make one ornament of Alicia's per year for my mom-in-law and for my dear mentor and for myself. After I've finished the Ice Skating Afternoon set, I'm going to have to tackle these! And, dude, you are so right...everyone should really give these a try! :)

After seeing your post about these adorable ornaments I had to order a kit. After much deliberation I selected the one with the ice skate to start with. Thanks for the inspiration. You do BEAUTIFUL work!!

Remind me again, who made these felted ornament patterns? Were they from a kit? Yours are positively beautiful and sweet..... truly heirlooms. I'd like to start a set myself.

I love your ornaments!! They are just up my alley-- I'm into detail. Yours are so sweet!! I could see how they could become addicting. I've enjoyed your posts of your felt makes-- as well as the joy/terror ride on the snow machine (down here in CT, don't recall what those are called-- we've had no snow this winter, save for the extraordinary and unusual October snowstorm this year. But today, a cold fron moved in-- so at least it feels seasonal). Hope you are enjoying the season (and avoiding the heights!)
