Just Call Me Schleprock

You have GOT to be kidding me.

Turns out I'm one of those "very rare cases" who has an allergic reaction to the drops I was prescribed for my lovely eye infection.  So now I have the yummy steroid kind.

In other news, I finally resorted to signing up for a class to learn more MAC stuff ... 'cause apparently wishing for someone to wave a magic wand over my head and granting me omnipotent MAC powers isn't working.

And I won't even bother mentioning that my little one is sick and staying home from school today ... again.

But on a more positive note ...

...   ...   ...

Uuuuh ...  I know it's here somewhere ... just have to keep looking for it ... ;)

I'm allergic to almost all face creams which I discovered AFTER I used one ... don't ask me what I looked like (even the pharmacist was shocked). You have my whole compassion;-)

The Mac classes are wonderful. It also helps to take a list of how-to questions with you. I hope you and little one are both fine very quickly.

On a more positive note, I know 2 different people who are taking the classes for their new macs and they love it! Both said the classes are really good and part of the 'purchase' you can get tech help in the Apple store for no additional charge. You just drop in with your Mac and ask them to show you what you are specifically trying to do. Cool, eh? Just don't go on the weekend...crazy crowded.

The steriod drops are okay...just a bit thick on the eyeball. Poor little Line Whore....you deserve so much better. Emigrate...emigrate! At lease you wouldn't be freezing to death! ;p

Poor you and poor little one!!This is when you should start singing my favourite song ....... 'things can only get better' (it worked for me when I was in Houston and my luggage was in Paris!)

So sorry you are going through all of this, how frustrating! ... but it sounds like things should turn the corner soon. You have the right medicine now, mac classes, and little one can't be sick forever, right? Hang in there!!!

Oh dear, it's really not turning out to be your week (fortnight!) is it?! I hope the new drops work, I can't imagine how much your eye hurts with an allergic reaction on top of an infection - take it easy, good luck with the MAC classes and I hope both your little one and you get better soon xx

Feel better soon, the both of you.

Taking a class to learn your new machine is a positive. :D Soon you'll be smoking along and wondering why it was so challenging at the beginning.

Now if I could just figure out my new (2 year old) camera. I think a class is in my future. ;)

You'll be humming along on the Mac in no time! I'm allergic to so many things-I gave myself a chemical peel by using a cream that had tea tree oil in it...my dermatologist was amazed (whole face ooozing yellow). Yuck. Even a lip balm with less than 1% peeled my lips. Ughhh! Keep chugging along :)

Hi Possum!!
I have a daughter allergic to the same drops by the sounds of it!!! Very ouch!!

Now seeing as you are doing Mac classes, let me give you a not well known tip. It might help. Macs have a feature that let you run your favourite windows program (ie outlook or ??) on a Mac..... you might be able to use it to put the mail software on the mac, copy across the *.PST file while it thinks it is working as a PC and then when working on the Mac trick it!!! Use the Mac version of the program to convert it across to Mac land and never use the windows version again!!!! If all that sounds too techie ask the instructor.

Or just email me. Good luck.

Just wait. You'll have your "duh" moment when it all clicks and makes sense. I'm a total convert to Mac now, but I was sure confused when I started. :-)

yes....I too found out I was allergic to the eye drops for pink eye (which I got from my children) You've never seen anything so grotesque.....or maybe you have. It was as if someone had taken their thumb, and pushed in my iris, while the flaming-red-usually-white part swelled up around it. Sorry for the visual, I hope you werent eating. I was then pre-scribed a salve to put inside the lower lid, then "smoosh" it around the eye. It was like looking through vaseline, BUT it cleared up the problem!
