I Had a Nice Weekend

How can I tell?  Here's the evidence ...

I started with red/aqua embroidery.

Not bad, but not quite right.

So I swapped the red for hot pink and used a lighter shade of aqua.

Better.

But I wasn't totally jazzed about the dark chocolate.  It looked more like black coffee to me.  And I don't drink coffee.  So I rifled through my felt stash and found the perfect "hot-winter-beverage-made-with-milk-chocolate-and-whole-milk" shade of brown ...

This one is mine. :)

This post made me laugh because when I looked at the first picture, I thought, "Oh, I love the light creamy brown. It looks just like how I like my coffee with lots of milk in it." Then I read your post commenting that you picked because it didn't look like coffee. I'm thinking you just haven't had coffee made the right way. You are welcome to come over anytime and I will fix you a nice creamy, sweet cup of coffee. =)

They are all perfect! Are you using wool felt, or regular craft store felt? Where did you buy your felt?

watered down" for my taste. Aahhh Viva la Difference!

These are just beautiful! Do you have any tips for me on getting a good, even whip stitch? I attempted it for the first time, thinking I would have it down in no time as I'm pretty good with my blanket stitch, but I was not pleased with the results.

Beautiful job Krystine. Do you use Tiger's Tape to get the blanket stitch spaced to perfectly or do you eyeball it? YEP, you eyeball it (knew it!) Your post is so cute. Thx for showing the difference in color shading. It makes a difference! PS: Are you by any chance related to Goldilocks of the Three Bears fame? LOL Working on my tags tonight!

They are so pretty and you've done lovely work on them. I have to agree - the dark brown looks like coffee - which was my first thought and I wondered why anyone would float a marshmallow in coffee! But maybe it's that hot chocolate made with water (gross) and it turns out really dark. In any case, they're beautiful!
