Communication 101 ... For Moms

If your 8 year old requests macaroni & cheese for dinner and you go to the grocery store with her after school to get the ingredients and you're not sure how much milk is in the fridge so you ask her and she tells you there's LOTS, make sure she knows you mean WHITE milk, not CHOCOLATE.

'Cause even hardcore chocoholics have to draw the line somewhere ... right?

I always just use extra butter when I am out of milk and it seems to work. Or I do it the other way if I'm out of butter. Hopefully I'm never out of both at the same time.

To be fair, it's only chocolate milk that counts to an 8-year-old.

lol.....lots... You didn't say what kind of milk, did you?

Better than reaching in and finding an empty milk carton, not that I would know anything like that. ;)

hehe - yes, I would definitely draw the line there!

And if my son requested macaroni and cheese, it would be the kind that comes from a box. sigh.

That is too funny!! I have a 9-yr old and a 4-yr old. As a back up, i always keep some of those extra milk boxes (like Parmalat brand) in the pantry shelves, in case we run out in the fridge-- they don't have to be refrigerated and they have a long shelf life.

Oh, my.... this really made me laugh! Yup, this chocoholic draws a line right there! LOL... In addition to what others have said, having evaporated milk helps too. Good Luck!!!
