The Wonderfulosityness Quilt

Ok.

It's official.

I want to be buried with this quilt.

'Cause to me, this is what heaven looks like. ;)

And you know, I jammed a whole lotta firsts for me into this project:

What in the world took me so long?

I know.  I was waiting for this book to take me by the hand and show me how to do all that ... and STILL make what I consider a "pretty" quilt.

My sweet, pink top-stitching thread. :)

Here's the back.

I used small "Lakehouse" yardage pieces from my stash that I guess were just waiting patiently all these years to be employed.  I'm very proud of myself for not just throwing a bunch leftover "uglies" on the back ... which is what I usually do ... and then forever regret.

And the happy pokie dottie binding ...

So.

When are YOU going to make a low volume scrappy quilt?

You know ya wanna.

It's beautiful!!! Can you give some tips on scrap quilts and this one in particular. I have attempted scrap in the past and they end up looking like something my cat threw up!

So thrilled for you that you have opened your pattern co.!!!!! Next - a book!!!!! Love, love, love your stuff!!!!!

I love your quilt and your blog too:) I work at a funeral home and at time quilters will have a beautiful quilt topper instead of a fresh flower grave spray, I always love to see this and it saves $!

I am going to have topics up this book!

Such a pretty pretty quilt, reminiscent of the "shabby chic" look. I love the dotty binding.

Seeing that lovely quilt has really brightened up my Monday morning.

It's sooooo pretty! I am going to order that book today. My problem is that I'm a new quilter with barely any scraps. If I wanted to make something similar to yours what fabrics do you suggest I purchase and how much of each? Does it matter much if the fabric is high end or not or should I not mix them?

September 3, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJanet

can I be buried with you? lol gorgeous colours, very inspirational!!

September 3, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCarole
