Let's Get Together!

Awh you guys, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being just so terrific and supportive about my book announcement.  I've had a perma-grin for two days reading all your lovely comments!

And the good news just keeps on coming.  You see, blogging is really fun for me.  But what I love even more is face time with people who share the same interest and passion as me  ... which is why I'm really excited about next week.  I've been invited to be a guest speaker at Rumpled Quilt Skins, a charming quilt shop in Okotoks, Alberta.

The shop - happily situated in an historic building - has a monthly social event called the "Upstairs Parlour Show" and I'll be there on Thursday, September 20th from 6:30 - 8:30 with my trunk show and a few more things I've made that I think you might enjoy seeing - like perhaps the original quilts I made that weren't supposed to become a book, but now are ... ;)

But it won't be just me nattering on and on for 2 hours straight.  The Upstairs Parlour Show is also an opportunity for you to bring your own work to share and to be inspired by your fellow stitchers.  I would love to see what you've been up to!

So if you live in the area (or are independently wealthy with a private jet and nothing else to do), please mark the day on your calender.  It's an informal, friendly & fun little get together.  Plus I'll likely have a slight case of nerves so I'd appreciate the moral support.

You don't need to register or anything, just show up.

Hope to see you there!

How fun! Oh, I wish I did have a jet! I would fly right up and enjoy the quilts, the conversation, and a nice cup of tea. LOVE that lovely historic building and the car parked out front of it. Please, please post about your evening after it's done! Have a wonderful weekend! :)

You know, one day we'll meet I'm sure ... but not next week because a) I'm not that close by and b) don't have a private jet. But hey, I'll be there in my heart and at least today my Little Stitches copy arrived (from UK btw ... amazon germany sucks at the moment;-) Wish you a wonderful weekend, I'll stitch a kitty, Hildy

AW!!! That's not fair. I'm in HOT SoCal and had to sell my personal jet a few years back when the economy went south. LOL. I would move heaven and earth to get there if it meant a 3 or 4 hour drive, but sadly that's not the case. What a darling name for a quilt shop - bet I would spend all my fabric allowance there! So thoroughly delighted for all the good fortune coming your way. Your followers will be your #1 supporters. I know I have to have your stuff - it's just a necessity. Really looking forward to your book. Good Luck and sure wish I could be there.

That is the cutest name for a quilt store I have ever heard. It is 95 degrees tonight where I live and we are melting, so maybe I will get my private jet (LOL), gather my quilting peeps and fly up for your party. Sounds like so much fun! I will wear pink all day (n your honor) since I want to support you, but can't attend. :p Congrats again Krystine. You are awesome!
