sew deerly giveaway

Well hello!  How is your week going so far?  Are you ready for Christmas?  I'm not.  But then again I never am.  And yet Christmas still comes anyway and things always work out. :)

I've been doing a little pre-xmas shopping for myself ...

These pretties came in the mail yesterday.  When I emailed my friend Kerri at Sew Deerly Loved to tell her the fabric had arrived and how much I love it, she offered to do a giveaway for you, my dear readers!  I'm very excited for one of you to win this bundle of sweet Japanese fabrics. :)

Japanese, ATSUKO MATSUYAMA, 30's Collection, Fat Quarter Bundle of 14

To enter this fabulous giveaway to win 14 FQs of Atsuko Matsuyama's latest fabrics, simply leave me a comment saying what Christmas sewing (if any) you are doing, already did or plan to do (no one will know if you don't get to it!).

Comments close Sunday Dec 22nd and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday Dec 24th.

Oh, and one more thing ... everything over at Sew Deerly Loved is 20% off right now so if you're looking for a gift for someone (like maybe yourself, possibly?) check out her shop.  I never leave empty-handed!

wow. thank you and Kerri for such a wonderful giveaway! i piece by hand and quilt by hand and donate to charity and churches. so i did lap quilts to go to the physical therapy floor at the local hospital and more to a couple of rest homes.you would be surprised at the number of elderly adults who like fabric you would normally use in baby quilts. i guess we are all still children at heart. oh and i am a new follower. babscorbitt@gmail.com

Very lovely fabrics! I would love to win. I made a couple baby blankets for my new grandson born December 18th this week. A cute bunny oven mitt and a twin sized quilt for my 1 year olds niece. I also made some vintage looking hand towels for gifts. Tomorrow I plan on making some mug rugs.

My grand daughter, who is nine and I are each working on Ms. Frost, a snow lady. Kendall is doing a great job on hers. They are embroidered in pastel floss with a frosty snowy day background fabric! I am also completing an embroidery of three Christmas stockings in blue, pink and green pastel motif. They will be framed with a padded backing in a vintage white frame.
So happy to have an embroidery buddy.

I will get back to my hexi quilt the day after Christmas. Soooo much winter knitting has kept me from it for quite a while and I am ready to slip my thimble back on. These fabrics would be perfect to add to my quilt!

My goal for Christmas sewing was to start handquilting a basket pattern vintage quilttop that I "rescued" from a shop and racked months ago! I should be able to start tommorrow now that I'm caught up on making quilt labels for several previous quilts I finsihed and three christmas stockings for three grandboys done! I just stumbled on your blog tonight and LOVE it :) Merry Christmas and thanks for the Giveaway*

Well I started off the month with big ideas...I was going to make some festive placemats, a couple of cute handmade bags for gifts, and a Christmas stocking. I picked out fabrics for all the projects and got busy stitching on the placemats first. Well I should say "placemat" (singular) because I never made it past the first one. I got hit by the flu bug which landed me in bed for a while. Slowly recovered but didn't feel 100% better! only to be blindsided by a sinus infection after I thought I had gotten better after the flu. So needless to say, my big plans for Christmas sewing went out the window. How dare the sickness grinch visit me in the month of December and ruin my sewing fun....lol. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks for sharing all your pretty projects with us. They are definitely an inspiration :-)
