Auction #7 - Patchwork Cushion Cover

I had a few questions yesterday about the embroidered letters on the Nesting Dolls bag.  Yes, it is a stem stitch (also called outline stitch).  It's my favourite stitch because I like how it has a rope-like texture that appears to lay on top of the fabric.  The trick for using the stem stitch is to make your stitches really small to make smooth lines.  If your stitches are too long - especially on tight curves - you will have little lines that stick out, like slivers.  So no trick really, just tiny stitches. :)

This one makes me a little sad to let go.  I made it specially for the "music room" in our new house.  (The room is labeled "Dining Room" on the blueprints, but since it's the only place on the main floor for a piano and we don't need an eating area at the back end of the house AND a separate dining room at the front of the house, we're turning said dining room into a music room where my girls can practice piano and violin ... I was going to say whenver they liked but who are we kidding?  They usually need to be "reminded" to practice.  Where was I - I've gotten myself all turned around with these tangents.)

Oh right.  Music room.  Since I made this cushion cover, however, I changed the paint colour for that room and now my perfect cushion cover - complete with music-themed fabric - just won't coordinate very well.  So it needs to find a new home.

I put some cute little details on it like a little satin ribbon ruffle, some lace and a few of my linen tape labels.  I also added a neatly hidden zipper closure on the back.  It fits a standard 20" square pillow form.

This auction ends June Sunday, 22 at 6:00 pm MST.  Shipping and pillow form not included.  I'll send a PayPal invoice to the winning bidder.

I love this cushion cover. It inspired me to make one of my own in a similar fashion.

Hi! Darling pillow! Love your sweet style.

I was unable to locate an email for you, so I guess I'll ask my question here.

Is there a search option for your blog?

I followed a pin showing a stack of diamond-shaped stitched-together hexagons. Unfortunately, for me, hoping to see what you made from them, it only linked back to your home page.

Would you direct me to that post? Thanks!
I love this pillow cover! Can I ask what fabric this is? I have a few friends who would love some of these fabrics. Sadly, we can't have nice pillows in my house cause of my destructo cats.

Love this pillow first time I saw it. Made our son and daughter in law a table runner out of this same material. The pillow will match perfectly. I will bid $35.00

Beautiful! I have a question too, but not sure this is the right forum, but ditto Karen above.

I have to make a 5.5" unfinished block for our guild president and the theme is candy. I want to do something w/added embroidery. Was wondering if there was anything in your books or patterns that would work. Was going to do a chocolate bunny, but someone already did that. And did it well! I would need to buy soon as the block is due no later than July 4th. Fingers crossed.

If you don't mind, I will take a shot at answering your question! I would do a google search for pattern suggestions and (most likely) print out the pattern/instructions. Or, if you are like me, you can look at the design and figure out how to stitch it.
I hope that helps!
Many blessings...

Hi! Cute pillow! I have a question similar to Karen's about your blog site, as well: Often when I click on one of the picture links on your blog, I get this message: "Identify yourself with this website. All requests to log into this website are logged. Repeated failed login attempts will result in lock out. You are attempting to access a resource on this site which is restricted. Please login below. After re-logging in, you will be automatically directed to the page you were attempting to access." I've also received a similar message (can't remember the precise wording) that tells me something similar but in sterner language...something along the lines of "You're not a member of this blog so can't view anything in it." This happens quite a lot but not for all your picture links. Why are some "locked" and not others? (This time I tried to open the picture you have of the toilet labeled "Just bring your knees up a little bit"...I figured it HAD to be funny! I tried "logging-in" with the email address you send me notifications to but I don't remember having to set up a password. How do I...do WE...register to see your "locked" picture links? Thanks for your help!
