Project Simplify - Day 5
August 16, 2011 What would a Project Simplify quilt be without a little ooopsies, hmmm? I feel I have a reputation to uphold now. ;)
The top row here isn't lined up properly. (Does this picture make anyone else think of Tetris?)
Please note, this will NOT happen to you if you follow the directions in the book. This happened to me because I only cut full blocks (no partials) 'cause I didn't know how many I'd need.
No biggie. It usually only takes one screw up to remind me to be more careful. USUALLY, just one ... but not ALWAYS ... my graying hair isn't just for show ... it's Mother Nature's way of warning all innocent by-standers that my faculties just aren't what they used to be! (Guess I should apologize for messin' with all you unsuspecting victims by using hair color, eh?)
At least I caught this one before I finished the entire seam.
I could have avoided this problem by cutting off all the long bits along the quilt sides AFTER I laid out the quilt but BEFORE I sewed the rows together ...
... but I didn't have that stroke of genius until just now. (Sigh) Might as well blame my hair for that too.

Hey on the purse pattern - I think you should just create a purse pattern that has a open section/band? where the maker could put any quilt pattern they want into it. What do you think? :-)
lol, i'm not too proud to say my hair color is also from a bottle...a very expensive bottle that only my hairdresser has access to. ;0
yes, looks like tetris to me, too. it is coming along beautifully! i can't wait for the big 'reveal'....have you started thinking about how you want to quilt it??
So when I do something silly, it's all down to my hair, well now I know!!!!

I really like this quilt and have a roll of Rounneries saved just for this quilt. It looks like a design wall is really needed for this one! I don't have one of those, nor do I have floor space. I think that is why the jelly roll sits and sits. Yours is looking so lovely and I can't wait to see it finished (I bet you can't wait either:)).
