spring fabric giveaway

Ah, Spring!  The days are noticeably longer now and the sunshine makes such a difference, doesn't it?

So does pretty new fabric in Spring-inspired colours.

Simply Sweet Fabrics has done it again with these gorgeous new Atsuko Matsuyama fabrics.  I love love love this print with bouquets spilling out of hat boxes and little love letters.

And these ... darling little wreaths.

I decided to make a simple bag to show off the hat box print to it's best advantage.  Three fabrics (plus lining), a bit of lace and a label.  Done, done and done!

I made this bag for my daughter's music books, but instead of walking the 10 steps from my sewing room to the piano to actually measure a book, I just used a craft book that was within arm's reach to make my template.  Unfortunately, this bag ended up just a smidgen too narrow for said music books.  Guess I'll have to keep this pink one for myself and make her another one.  It's just as well.  She prefers the blue.

Simply Sweet Fabrics would like to give one of you ALL SIX of these Atsuko Matsuyama fat quarters (these and these).  To enter for a chance to win, leave me a comment describing your most favourite/successful craft project ever.  This giveaway closes Sunday April 13th and I'll announce the winner shortly after.  Happy Spring!

SO pretty!!
I love the baby quilt I made for my baby boy last year. I used strips of grays, reds, aquas and whites ranging from one inch wide to four inches. Backed with white minkey and bound with gray confetti dot. So soft and my little guy is wild about the bright colors. I actually ended up making a crib sheet and pillow out of the scraps- too fun!!
Thanks for the chance to win!

Hmmm... That's a difficult question!! I'd have to say taking professional-like pictures of my daughter throughout her first year. Saved money and her pictures came out great!

My favorite is a quilt I just finished this year for a young Missionary friend. I went outside the box on this one and I love the way it turned out. Your tote is lovely.

What a gorgeous bag! Such lovely fabric, so soft and delicate. I'd love to play with these! One of my favorite projects was what I made for my best friend's 18th birthday. I crocheted her a bedspread, two pillows and sewed two pillowcases. I worked for months, every night until I had it finished. My BFF loved it and when I was back for our 20th class reunion, she still had them!

Thank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

The fabrics are sooo pretty, dainty, and cheery! Our winter isn't over yet and seeing these fabrics definitely brighten my day. My favorite project is my red with white polka dots, purse! It feels good just to carry it, and I receive so many compliments from strangers. It's a simple pattern, but I think the fabric is so bright and cheery it draws attention. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.

My most successful and favorite project ever is a quilted
weekender bag that I made with the help of a sweet
and very talented friend.

One of my first craft projects was my Raggedy Anne doll that I made when I was 16 - and it's now my 2 year old grand daughter's favorite friend when she visits me! These are beautiful fabrics and I'd love to make a little blanket for my grand daughter to wrap up her Raggedy Anne doll. Thanks for the chance to win!

A Christmas wall hanging that I hand quilted very densely. It took me a long time (didn't get it done for Christmas) and let me feeling at a loss when it was actually done! Need to start another one like that... sarah@forrussia.org

I think my most successful project has been recently. I finished a tote bag for a friend with a hand-embroidered design on the front. It was black/white fabric with a colorful embroidery of 2 friends sitting together! Oh, love your little tote bag even if it was the wrong size :)

Love Atsuka Matsuyama! Awesome give away. My most successful project was with Atsuka Maysuyama. I made my first mini quilt using Maysuyama's awesome fabric. I adored the edges with mini pom-poms. The quilt took a lot of time and effort but it turned out beautifully.

Hmm, that is hard to say. I've made one crazy quilt using old fabrics and using embroidery stitches on the seams. I feel that is pretty successful project. One that I'm pretty excited about is making quilts and I have the blocks finished for a feathered star quilt. The blocks are quite tiny, so it is more detailed than most quilts I make.

My favorite craft project is the latest quilt I've finished. (I have a stack of UFOs I'm trying to finish.) I love these fabrics. They remind me of old hankies that I inherited from my mother.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these fabrics. So pretty, so feminine. They would make adorable doll clothes and my favorite ever crafts are making dolls and dolls clothes to go with them. I also love your little bags. Are you sure you didn't err in your favor on purpose? :) Just checking :)

My most successfull craft project is really a group I have 5 grandchildren all in the same family I've made them pillow cases and wash cloths with their names on them. The children enjoy them and know I love them each time they see their names.

I made a diaper bag complete with changing pads, burp cloths, bibs, and wipe case for our first grandson. I even embroidered his name. Thanks so much for a chance to win these beautiful fabrics. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hmmm... I think my favorite craft projects are seasonal wreaths for my door- they take hardly any time compared to quilting! But I love the baby quilts I made for my grandsons.

My favorite project is always my current one because I love to create. I just want to say that this fabric is just adorable! I love it.

My most successful craft project to date has to be the messenger bag I made for my niece for Christmas two years ago. She loves camo so I used a camo print for the outside and the bright hunter's orange for the inside. She loved it and used it all the time. Oh, and I "blinged" it up a little with an iron on cross.

My most successful craft project was a quilt that I made for my hubby. It was a UFO for so long that he was very surprised when I finished it! Lol

I would have to say my favorite project/most successful would have to be the quilt I made for my son. Knowing that I wanted to take a quilting class, my husband went to our LQS and signed me up for a class and had the staff help him pick out fabrics. I loved what they chose and made a double Irish chain quilt. I hand quilted the open blocks with things like the cow jumping over the moon, stars, and other coordinating nursery rhyme themed items. It was my first quilt and I'm still proud of it!
Thanks for the opportunity to win such beautiful fabrics! Your projects, props and photography are SO pretty!! I love seeing what you are up to.

My mom had hand embroidered some blocks years ago. She gave them to me to finish for a baby quilt for my grandbaby. I took her blocks added some 30's reproductions blocks and made a quilt for her. She was so exicited when she opened the box. Her face was priceless.

I love your fabric choices! I made a purse out of scraps in the quilt as you go method - a craftsy class. It is so awesome and it makes me proud when I carry it!!! It is rare that I make anything for myself, so when I do I really charise it.

My favorite recent project is a handbag I made for my mother for Christmas. She loves it and has had many, many compliments on it. The proprietor of a gift and specialty shop thought it was a new Vera Bradley design that she did not yet have in her shop!

My most successful is my first quilt and only one finished so far. A present for a new family member, I managed to keep my points straight and not have to pull out any seams. I also completed the quilt in under a month and it arrived just in time for the baby to be born.

My favorite project has been my first quilt. It is a log cabin in greens. I learned so much making it, from cutting with a rotary cutter to hand quilting it.

My favorite craft project was a quilt that I made for my coworker's baby boy. I used Jungle Bungle fabric line (from Moda) and it turned out better (and faster!) than I had planned. here's a picture from my flickr : https://www.flickr.com/photos/25146636@N05/9102391163/ , and I enjoyed every minute of sewing it.

Thanks for the give-away!

I most successful craft project ever is a small needle notebook made of felt. It was pretty easy to sew, as I only used felt and some flowers & leaves appliqués - also cut out from felt. But who doesn't like a quick but charming thing made out of felt? You don't have to handle the raw edges, which saves you a lot of time!

These spring fabrics are so lovely. Thank you for the giveaway.
