snazzy

Here it is ... my 12 year old's first sewing machine project all finished.

The girl is on Cloud 9.

And I have a feeling she'll be finding more uses for her snazzy patchwork bag than just piano books.

By the way, I'm suddenly wondering if it's still ok to say "snazzy"?

I looked it up and it means "stylishly and often flashily attractive" so it totally applies here.  But I can't remember the last time I read it or heard someone SAY it.

It's such a great word.

Snazzy.

How in the world did you keep from going crazy while your daughter used your machine and space!! Somehow I manage to become a raving lunatic and control freak, all wrapped up in one, whenever my girls even ask to borrow supplies or machine. It's a WONDERFUL bag and a job well done. Snazzy is completely appropriate! I would love to hear how you can encourage your daughter without being a control freak... then again it might just be personalities?!? LOL

As I said before - she's a rock star! What a terrific job and such a beautiful selection of colours. I remember being 14 and making all kinds of things ( a long halter dress for my trip to Calif.) and just having fun. I see a long and happy sewing trail for this gal :)

It's gorgeous! She did a great job matching her seams. I wish I had started sewing when I was her age. Maybe I'd be good at it by now. :)

It's beautiful! (my twelve year old has absolutely no interest in sewing :(. She made a baby quilt with 4 inch squares and was very proud but doesn't really like it.) I think snazzy is a great word and describes your bag with pizzazz!!!!

My mum taught me to use the sewing machine at 12 too and I still have my first project, a rag doll who now sits in my sewing room. She is 38 years old and I still love her. That snazzy bag will be around for a long time and your daughter will get a lot of pleasure out of using something that she made herself. Keep up the good work both of you xxx

You better lock down your stash before she makes a SPIFFY bag. Because after snazzy you move on up to spiffy! Just wait until she starts to combine Bonnie & Camille fabrics with Flower Sugar! This bag looks amazing.

When I was at school in the 70's SNAZZY was THE word!!! This is the coolest bag, and how absolutely wonderful that you two can share something so precious. I adore the bag, such great sewing at such an early age! Well done!! I love the pattern, the fabric and the lining - I too, see a brilliant future and she is for sure, your daughter!
